And since you have become so good at your game of choice (probably blackjack if I was betting on it), you have decided to try out the professional life of a gambler. Congratulation is not something that comes to mind, more like foolish, but it’s your life. Believe me when I tell you that I know where you’re coming from and hey, you may be able to do it. However, there are a few things for you to consider first.

First and foremost, if you have children, do not consider gambling as your primary source of income unless you have a back up income from a spouse or trust fund, something significant. It isn’t fair for your children to suffer because you can’t provide for them during the ups and downs of casino gambling. Secondly, ask yourself if you are prepared financially to go through the ups and downs of gambling for a living. Are you prepared emotionally for the ups and downs? You’ll find out pretty quickly because usually as soon as you make a conscious decision to do it, you’ll find that the Queen of Bad Luck is your new best friend. Really, things just work out that way. You’ll likely be put to the test just because you aren’t playing for fun anymore, and you’re playing for keeps so to speak. It doesn’t matter to me why you think you are good enough to become a professional gambler and it certainly doesn’t matter to anyone else so if you choose to pursue your new career, understand that and know that most professionals do not go out and advertise it.
